The Anti Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (Anti-HBs) – Total Test is a key blood test used to determine whether a person has protective immunity against the Hepatitis B virus (HBV). This immunity may be acquired either through recovery from a previous natural infection or through successful vaccination.

Anti-HBs antibodies appear in the blood after the Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) disappears, signalling the end of the acute infection phase and the beginning of long-term immunity. The presence of Anti-HBs in an asymptomatic individual may also indicate past exposure with complete recovery.

This test is also widely used to:
